This piece is designed to make you reflect, think and DREAM big, whilst being inspired by the power of Paua.  Made of individual genuine Paua, sourced and imported from New Zealand, this hand crafted wall design or stand alone piece would make a stunning addition to any wall or home decor. 

Paua is native to New Zealand and unique to the cold deep waters off the North and South Island coast.  It is the cold Antarctic waters that produce the amazing multi-coloured blue, green and purple hues of Paua (pronounced "pah-wah"), making it one of the most beautiful and one of a kind shells in the world. 

The shell is held in high regard by Maori as a treasure [taonga] from the God of the sea. Paua eyes were used in Maori carvings because they reflected the light at night, which made the carvings more life like, and people felt they were being looked over when they slept at night.
